Potential Benefits of Caffeine

While caffeine is known to increase energy, there have been many studies suggesting that there may be other benefits as well.

A study at Johns Hopkins showed that taking a 200mg caffeine pill boosted memory consolidation .[1] Another study found that caffeine may reduce muscle pain by up to 48% post-workout. [2] A third even suggested that it may increase stamina levels during exercise while decreasing chronic inflammation.

While Tru won't make many of these claims, it is very interesting to see the level of research that has been dedicated to the topic of caffeine. We are certainly believers in some of these benefits but you should judge for yourself to see what works best for you.

How Much Caffeine Should I Consume?

Mayo Clinic recommends not taking more than 400 mg of caffeine in a day for healthy adults, and not more than 200 mg in a single dose, and less for younger people.

What are Some Side Effects of Caffeine?

Caffeine blocks adenosine, which is a neurological chemical that helps you feel tired and releases adrenaline into your body, which makes you more alert. This can be troublesome if your adrenaline levels are too high, as it can create a feeling of nervousness. Some popular energy drinks contain 300 mg of caffeine or more, as well as 40 g of sugar. An excess amount of caffeine can be linked to increased levels of anxiety depending on your individual tolerance.

As with any functional ingredient like caffeine, it is best to consult a doctor to ensure that any drink or supplement is ok for your consumption.

Do Tru Drinks Have Caffeine?
